Fun fact: Dr. Wiewiora used to be a patient of Dr. Richard Dunn’s – she credits her amazing experience at his practice as what initially inspired her to pursue orthodontics.

Cara L. Wiewiora, D.M.D., M.S.D. is a highly experienced and skilled orthodontist who was born and raised in Longwood, FL. Her goal every day is to create beautiful, life-changing smiles all while getting to know each patient and family personally. To help provide the best service in Central Florida, she continues to stay up to date with the latest orthodontic technology and techniques. Dr. Wiewiora is also a member of the Arnold Palmer Craniofacial Team where she has the opportunity to give back to the community and work with numerous cleft lip and palate patients.

Dr. Wiewiora received a B.S. degree from the University of Florida, graduating Cum Laude with a major in Food Science and Human Nutrition. Continuing as a Florida Gator, she worked for her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and was awarded the Dr. Carroll G. Bennett Award for Academic Excellence in Pediatric Dentistry as well as The American College of Dentists Students Ethics Award. She was also inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.

Following her dream to become an orthodontist, Dr. Wiewiora completed her orthodontic residency at Louisiana State University, earning a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry. She was awarded the J. Jerome Hebert Award for Outstanding Resident, the LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry Research Day award, and the James P. Bordelon, D.D.S. Memorial Award for Clinical Excellence in Orthodontics. During her orthodontic training, Dr. Wiewiora performed research on reducing the development of white spot lesions during orthodontic treatment, and her paper has been published in the Oral Health and Preventive Dentistry journal.

When Dr. Wiewiora is not perfecting smiles, she enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, Lee, who is also a native of Longwood, FL – they are high school sweethearts! She also enjoys experiencing everything that beautiful Central Florida has to offer, as well as traveling, making memories with family and friends, reading, cooking and cheering on the Gators.
