Invisalign is The Clear Alternative to Braces

Wiewiora & Dunn Orthodontics offers free consultations for Invisalign (invisible braces) and Invisalign Teen at both of our locations. In less than 40 minutes, you can have your records taken and get a full review from a doctor on your best treatment options. Dr. Wiewiora is a specially trained Invisalign orthodontist who can correct almost any orthodontic issue with Invisalign. Our practice utilizes a digital impression scanner that will take a scan of your teeth to be sent digitally to Invisalign. Thanks to the digital scan, we can deliver your first set of clear aligners within a couple of weeks of your initial consultation. We take many insurances and offer competitive pricing, discounts, in-house financing and third-party financing – for which payments could be as low as $100 per month.

How Invisalign Works
Invisalign technology works in a series of clear, plastic trays or aligners. You’ll receive individual sets of aligners; each set consists of one aligner for the top teeth and one for the bottom teeth. Every set of Invisalign aligners is custom-designed to shift your teeth closer to their ideal position. Invisalign applies gentle, but persistent force to your teeth as you wear them throughout the day and night.
To begin the Invisalign process, we will use our iTero™ digital impression scanner to scan your teeth without mess from putty or goopy substances. In just a couple of weeks after your initial consultation, we’ll have your first set of custom clear aligners ready!
You’ll wear each set of aligners for one to two weeks before replacing them with a new set. Every eight to ten weeks, you’ll visit our office so we can monitor your progress and create new sets of aligners for you.
How long does Invisalign take?
There is no fixed amount of time for an Invisalign treatment period. Your treatment period will depend on your personalized treatment plan, which we create based on the severity of your condition and your specific smile goals.
Your treatment period will also depend on your diligence in wearing your Invisalign aligners through the day and night. If you wear your aligners less than 20 to 22 hours each day, you will likely endure a longer treatment period.
The average Invisalign treatment period lasts anywhere from 12 to 18 months, but is subject to change based on your custom treatment plan and your commitment to wearing your aligners.
Invisalign Attachments
To ensure the most effective treatment plan possible, we may suggest Invisalign attachments that provide your aligners with a little extra force to shift the teeth into the ideal position.
Invisalign attachments are small, tooth-colored buttons that are bonded (or cemented) to individual teeth. These attachments act as anchors that fill the small space between the tooth and aligner, causing aligners to fit tighter around the teeth.
You won’t need Invisalign attachments on every tooth; we will place them strategically on teeth that require some additional pressure. Many people don’t require Invisalign attachments throughout their entire treatment period either. Your experience with Invisalign attachments will depend entirely on your progress.
Invisalign attachments may feel a bit rough at first, but as they wear down, they’ll become smoother and less noticeable. Eating with Invisalign attachments will take some extra diligence. To prevent food and bacteria build-up around your Invisalign attachments, you’ll need to take additional care by brushing your teeth and rinsing your mouth after snacks and meals.

Wiewiora & Dunn Orthodontics Does Digital Impressions
Wiewiora & Dunn Orthodontics uses an iTero® Element™ scanner that takes accurate and precise digital impressions of your mouth without any of the discomfort and messiness of traditional impressions. The iTero® Element™ scanner creates a 3D image of your teeth in minutes. The accuracy and precision of the digital scanner allows for a better aligner fit. The digital scanner gives you insight into the state of your teeth, providing an outcome simulator that will show you what your smile will look like and a progress assessment that tracks how your aligners have helped your teeth. Our practice is continually striving to provide our patients with the latest technology and advancements in orthodontics. This is why we utilize iTero® digital impressions.
