Where Healthy Smiles Grow from the Start

Did you know the American Association of Orthodontists recommends a child’s first orthodontic checkup by age 7?

That doesn’t mean your child will need braces right away. In fact, many children aren’t ready for orthodontic treatment at age 7, and that’s perfectly normal.

The first visit helps us see how your child’s teeth and jaws are developing so we can guide their smile as they grow.

And if treatment isn’t needed yet, your child will get to join something fun…

The Wiewiora & Dunn Orthodontics Kids Club!

What is the Wiewiora & Dunn Orthodontics Kids Club?

Our Kids Club (also called an Observation Club) is designed for children who are not quite ready for braces or orthodontic treatment yet.

Instead of starting treatment too early, we simply monitor their smile as they grow.

Your child will visit us about every 6 months or so for a complimentary check-up, where we’ll evaluate their smile development and make sure everything is progressing as expected.

We monitor things like:

  • Tooth eruption
  • Jaw growth
  • Bite alignment
  • Spacing and crowding

If the time comes when orthodontic treatment would help your child’s smile, we’ll guide you through the next steps.

Until then, we simply keep watching that smile grow!

Peace of Mind for Parents

One of the biggest benefits of joining the Kids Club is peace of mind. You won’t have to wonder if your child’s teeth are developing properly.

You’ll know Dr. Wiewiora and Dr. Dunn, a board-certified orthodontist and orthodontist with nearly 50 years of experience, are keeping an eye on their smile as they grow.

We consider it a privilege to be part of your child’s journey, helping guide their smile development and letting you know if anything needs attention.

Making Kids’ Orthodontic Visits Fun

At Wiewiora & Dunn Orthodontics, we want your child to feel comfortable and excited about visiting the orthodontist. Visiting the orthodontist can be something to look forward to!

Our goal is to create positive experiences from the very beginning, so orthodontic visits feel fun, friendly, and familiar.

At our orthodontic offices, we have special children’s areas with Marvel decor and mini arcade games to keep the littles entertained!

These experiences help children build confidence and develop a positive relationship with caring for their smile.

When Will My Child Need Braces?

Every smile grows differently. Some children need early orthodontic treatment at age 6 or 7, while others may be ready around 10 or 11. Others may not need treatment at all!

By monitoring your child’s smile through our Kids Club, we can ensure treatment begins only when it will be most effective.

This approach helps create the best possible results while avoiding unnecessary or premature treatment.

When Should You Schedule Your Child’s First Orthodontic Checkup?

If your child is around age 6 or 7, it’s the perfect time for their first orthodontic visit.

Even if everything looks great right now, an early evaluation allows us to:

  • Monitor future smile development
  • Catch potential issues early
  • Give you guidance on what to expect as your child grows

Most importantly, it helps ensure your child’s smile is growing healthy and strong.

Schedule Your Child’s First Orthodontic Checkup

At Wiewiora & Dunn Orthodontics, our experienced children’s orthodontists love helping young smiles grow with confidence.

If your child is approaching age 7, we invite you to schedule their complimentary orthodontic checkup.

If they’re not ready for treatment yet, they’ll simply join our Kids Club, and we’ll continue monitoring their smile as they grow.
